Since 1989, students have been coming from all areas of the world to study at Christ For The Nations Bible College to expand their knowledge of God and to prepare themselves for ministry.
Admission Requirements
Citizens or permanent residents of a country other than Canada must apply for and obtain a study permit if they wish to study in Canada for a period of more than six months. The following criteria are applicable for prospective students who fit this category and are requesting admission to CFN.
NOTE: a Letter of Acceptance for the purpose of obtaining a study permit cannot be released until this information is provided.
Application Requirements for International Students (other than U.S.)
Applicants must submit an application. The application must be accompanied by an application fee of $450, of which $350 will be credited towards your account upon arrival and enrolment. (Payment must be made in Canadian Funds). It is strongly recommended that you consider all issues concerning language, finances, and study permit requirements before you proceed.

- Official transcript of high school equivalent of Canadian grade twelve, and/or college academic record. NOTE: Where transcripts are in original language, certified English translations must also be provided.

When to Apply
It is strongly recommended that you apply as early as 8 to 12 months prior to the beginning date of the term in which you wish to enroll to allow time for the student to apply for and receive a study permit. Financial Details

NOTE: CFN requires students attending on a Study Permit to pay full tuition in advance of each semester.
English Language Proficiency
- In order to be accepted in any of CFN’s programs for credit described starting on page 19, an international student, whose first language is not English, must have a TOEFL score of at least 550 Paper-based, 213 Computer-based, or 80 Internet–based. For further information on getting a TOEFL score contact: TOEFL Educational Testing Service, Box 899, Princeton, New Jersey, USA 08540 or www.toefl.org
- Testing should be done in your country of origin at least 2-6 months prior to your first semester at CFN.
- Please indicate code “1410” on your TOEFL forms so that your score can be directly sent to CFN.
- Proof of English proficiency may not be required for applicants who have attended secondary or post-secondary institutions where the language of instruction and examination is English. Please contact our Registrar’s office for further information.
- International applicants whose first language is not English who do not have a TOEFL score, or have a TOEFL score of less than 550 Paper-based, 213 Computer-based, or 80 Internet–based may apply to one of the International English Language Immersion Program options described on page 36 of the Academic Catalogue. The International English Language Immersion Program is not formal ESL training, yet is specifically designed for applicants who have some competence in English and would like to study the Bible and practical ministry in an English-speaking environment. These courses are non-transferable.
Study Permit Requirements
For complete information on Study Permits, consult the web site of Immigration Canada: www.cic.gc.ca Currently, the Immigration Services Fee for a Study Permit is $125 (Canadian Funds).
To obtain a Study Permit, you will need the following documentation (additional information may be required):
- Proof of Acceptance: Offer of admission to Christ For The Nations Bible College and information about the expected time to complete the program provided in the Letter of Acceptance you will receive from Christ For The Nations Bible College after you have successfully completed your application.
- Proof of Identity: valid passport and passport photos (sized according to specifications).
- Proof of Financial Support: You may be required to bring financial documents to prove you have the necessary funds (bank statements, scholarship & bursary awards and/or pledges of support from other organizations/individuals). You may also have to prove that you have sufficient funds for return transportation for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada.
- Proof of Medical Information: in some cases, you may have to provide a medical clearance
- Proof of Security: In some cases, you may have to provide a police check.
Health Insurance
Each student is responsible for his own medical expenses, and so we require each student to have personal medical insurance. You can pursue the Medical Services Plan of BC as it is available to all residents of the province 3 months after arrival. Health care is extremely expensive in Canada, so it is important for you to have interim coverage. See www.health.gov.bc.ca/msp
